At our office, the health and safety of our patients and our wonderful dental team are our top priorities. As a result, we are strict about following the infection control recommendations of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In response to COVID-19 and its variants, our office has made a few additional changes to our operations to maximize the safety of our patients and staff. These new changes include:
- Screening Questions: Before and after your visit our team will ask screening questions to determine whether you are well enough to visit the office in person. You can access our screening questionnaire here.
- Temperature Scans: You will have your temperature taken when you arrive.
- Hand Sanitizer: This will be available in the reception area and throughout the office as needed.
- Social Distancing: We are scheduling fewer appointments each day to allow for social distancing between patients. We will also allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times. There will be no coming into the back of our office while we are working with patients.
- No Waiting Room: We may ask that you remain in your car after checking in and filling out paperwork. We will call or text when we are ready for you to be seated.
- Mandatory Masks: Face masks are required for all our staff at all times and for all patients at all times except during their procedures.
Before and after your appointment, our team will disinfect all reusable equipment between uses. We also use an autoclave, which is a device that kills bacteria and viruses using steam, heat and pressure. We use disposable materials and tools when possible to eliminate the risk of cross contamination. All of these safety measures are in addition to our regular infection control and safety protocols that we had in place before the COVID-19 pandemic, and which we will continue regardless of the pandemic status. These measures include:
- Eye protection for patients and team members
- Disinfectant hand soap
- Gloves and face masks
- Chemical disinfection of countertops and surfaces
- Sterilization of all equipment before every use
